Arts cultural district, urban center planning, zoning more on agenda for Monday Council

The Burien City Council will meet Monday at 7 p. m. to discuss the establishment of an arts and cultural district and updates on urban center planning. A special meeting at 6:30 p. m.

will include interviews for the Arts Commission and Parks & Recreation Board, highlighting community engagement in local governance. Proclamations will recognize September 21, 2019, as Mayor’s Day of Concern for the Hungry, underlining local efforts to address food insecurity. The council will review zoning map amendments related to development requests from Moore, Assefa, and Wu. Additionally, updates on the urban centers planning process and discussions on extending a moratorium on enhanced services facilities will be included on the agenda.
