Five stories from Military Roads past to be revealed in Renton June 17

Burien, WALocal News

Steve Edmiston will present “FINDING STORY IN HISTORY” at Renton Carco Theatre on June 17, showcasing five adapted stories from Military Road's history. These tales, which span from 1858 to the Cold War, include significant events like a plot to save Chief Leschi and a tense moment during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Supported by multiple historical societies, Edmiston will explore the intricacies of adapting real events into screenplays. The evening will feature an interview with director Scott Schaefer, as well as live script readings by local actors. This initiative is part of a 4Culture Site Specific Phase I project grant.

The presentation aims to engage the community with history through film. It will be filmed for later broadcast by Puget Sound Access, ensuring wider access to the discussions. Admission is free, with a $5 donation suggested for the Carco Theatre.
