Student work part of Featured Exhibit at Burien Arts Gallery reception Feb. 7

An exhibit featuring student artwork from five Highline School District schools will be displayed at Burien Arts Gallery throughout February. The Opening Reception is set for February 7, from 3 to 6 p. m. , allowing visitors to meet the artists and engage with their work. The gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12 p.

m. to 6 p. m. and Sunday from 12 p. m.

to 4 p. m. , with free admission for all. The Burien Arts Association, established in the 1960s, focuses on enhancing community engagement through innovative arts programming. In 2013, the organization opened a new gallery in the historic Olde Burien area.

Current activities include the Highline Classic Jazz Festival and Shakespeare in the Park, among others. The association continues to promote local arts and culture, enriching the lives of residents and visitors alike. Future programming announcements are expected to further engage the community.

Suspect arrested after chase that started in Federal Way ends in Auburn

A suspect was arrested following a high-speed chase that began in Federal Way and ended in Auburn. The driver, who was clocked at 103 mph on I-5, attempted to flee on foot after authorities deployed spike strips to disable the vehicle. He now faces felony eluding charges.
