Highline Public Schools is set to introduce 'StormFest,' an engaging stormwater science festival for 6th graders at five local middle schools this spring. The festival will unfold over two days at each school, featuring interactive lessons designed to align with Washington State Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Students will explore important concepts such as stormwater pollution and watershed models, enhancing their understanding of environmental science. Organizers are actively recruiting Station Educators, Interpreters, and Volunteers to support the event and inspire students to become environmental stewards. Notably, several lessons will be offered in Spanish, catering to the diverse student body.

Applications are being accepted until March 31, 2022, and will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. Interested individuals can learn more and apply through the festival's dedicated email. This initiative highlights the importance of community involvement in promoting environmental education among young learners.
