Scheduled for January 4, 2015, the Third Annual "Walk-n-Talk-with-a-Doc" event invites the community to engage in healthy living through walking. WABI Burien is hosting this initiative, featuring Dr. Michael Schlitt, a neurosurgeon, who will discuss the myriad health benefits of walking. Participants will have the chance to converse with Dr. Schlitt during the walk, reinforcing the event’s goal of fostering community connections.

The doctor, who advocates for walking as a primary rehabilitation method, will provide invaluable insights into how this simple activity can enhance overall health. To incentivize participation, the first 44 attendees will receive a complimentary pedometer along with a guide to a walking program. This year’s event is expected to attract a significant number of walkers, as seen in previous years with over 60 participants. The route is designed to accommodate walkers of all abilities, making it an inclusive community gathering. As Burien emphasizes active living, this event aligns with its vision of promoting physical and mental well-being.
