Next FREE Repair Caf will be Wed., Sept. 4 at Burien Library

Burien, WALocal News

The Burien Library is set to host a FREE Repair Café on September 4, from 3 to 6 p. m. , providing an excellent opportunity for community members to repair their small household items, including clothing. This initiative aims to reduce waste and save participants money while fostering a culture of sustainability. Attendees are required to bring items that one person can easily carry, with a reminder that all textiles must be washed prior to the event.

While experienced "fixers" will work on repairs, no guarantees can be made regarding the success of repairs, and participants should be present during the process. This event is organized on a first-come, first-served basis, emphasizing the importance of contacting organizers in advance to prepare for specialized repairs. Tom Watson is available for inquiries via email or phone, ensuring that community members have access to support. The Repair Café not only addresses practical needs but also builds community resilience by promoting resource conservation. This event exemplifies local efforts to engage citizens in sustainable practices, making it a noteworthy addition to the Burien community calendar.
