Bloodworks Northwest is organizing a Pop-Up Blood Donor Center in Burien from August 21 to 25, 2020, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The initiative aims to address the ongoing need for blood donations, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, and emphasizes the importance of community health. All donations will be by appointment only to ensure safety and compliance with social distancing measures, with restrictions on walk-ins and individuals under 16. First-time donors aged 16-17 are required to have a signed permission slip. Each donation appointment lasts about one hour and plays a vital role in supporting local hospitals.
