Seattle City Light will start replacing aging utility poles in Burien soon

Burien, WALocal News

Seattle City Light will soon begin replacing aging utility poles in Burien, with completion expected by the end of 2016. Contractor Magnum Power LLC will oversee the project, which will take place from Monday to Thursday, 7 a. m. to 5 p. m.

New poles will be installed next to existing ones, adhering to standard construction specifications, which may result in poles that are slightly taller and approximately two inches wider. Maintenance power outages will be necessary for safety, and residents will receive notifications 48-72 hours prior to any outages detailing the date, time, and duration. This project represents a crucial investment in local infrastructure designed to enhance electrical reliability. The installation process will involve relocating electrical equipment, which may delay the transfer of utilities from old poles by several months. City Light will monitor and coordinate these efforts to facilitate the removal of outdated poles.

Community members can contact City Light for more information regarding the project.
