Highline Public Schools Free Summer Meals program begins Monday, June 28

Burien, WALocal News

Highline Public Schools' free summer meal program kicks off on June 28, 2021, serving all children aged 18 and under. Families can select between weekly meal kits, which contain seven days of breakfasts and lunches, or daily ready-to-eat meals available at specific locations. Registration is not necessary, and participation is open to all children regardless of their school enrollment. Weekly meal kits provide options for meat or vegetarian diets, with cooking instructions available on-site or online. Daily meals must be consumed on-site and are served Monday through Friday.

The program will not operate on July 5, and families are advised to check for any changes in meal times on the official website. To find other free meal sites, families can call or visit various resources. This initiative addresses food insecurity during the summer months, highlighting the commitment to ensuring children have access to nutritious meals.
