Burien, WALocal News

The Burien Eagles F. O. E #3523 raised and donated $1,387. 71 to USO Northwest for appliances in the new Sea-Tac facility. The funds came from weekly raffles, a holiday bazaar, and a dinner/dance organized by the club.

USO Northwest plans to construct a new 7,000-square-foot center at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, significantly larger than the current 3,500-square-foot facility. This expansion aims to accommodate the growing number of military personnel visiting each month, with enhanced amenities including more showers and a family room. The center will also feature flooring made from teak decking from the USS Colorado, a WWII battleship. Construction is scheduled to start in spring 2014, emphasizing the commitment to better serve the community. To support the initiative, donations are welcome at usonw.
