Police: Bothell woman stabs mother in neck

Bothell, WA** Local News

A Bothell woman faces serious charges after allegedly stabbing her mother in the neck shortly after her release from an involuntary mental health commitment. The incident occurred early Friday morning when the mother, asleep in her bedroom, awoke to her 23-year-old daughter attempting to strangle her. After the strangulation attempt failed, the daughter used a kitchen knife, causing severe injuries that required around 25 stitches. The mother reported a history of abusive behavior from her daughter, which may have contributed to the violent incident. Following the attack, the daughter fled, and despite a police search, she was not found immediately.

The next day, she returned to her mother’s front yard, where police apprehended her. She is currently held in the Snohomish County Jail, with bail set at $20,000, awaiting further legal proceedings.
