Bothell man charged with second-degree murder for baseball bat beating
Gavin Wollman, a 35-year-old resident of Bothell, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of his father, 72-year-old Robert Wollman. Authorities reported that Gavin made death threats against his father two weeks before the tragic incident, raising significant concerns about mental health and familial violence. On the morning of June 3, Gavin approached a neighbor asking for assistance, repeatedly stating he needed an aid car. However, when questioned by police, his account changed from hitting his father with headphones to admitting he had used a baseball bat. Upon arrival, first responders discovered Robert's lifeless body in a recliner, indicating he had suffered a severe head injury.
Gavin was arrested shortly after and remains in custody, with bail set at $1 million. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 12, bringing attention to the serious implications of domestic violence. This case underscores the critical need for community resources focused on mental health and preventative measures against domestic abuse.
