** Deputies shoot Bothell man during domestic violence response

Bothell, WALocal News

On Wednesday night, deputies responded to a domestic violence call at an apartment complex north of Bothell. Upon arrival, they found a 29-year-old man barricaded inside, holding a 56-year-old woman and a child against their will. The situation escalated when deputies attempted to subdue the suspect with a Taser, but he charged at them wielding a weapon. This prompted a deputy to fire their weapon, injuring the suspect. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he is expected to survive his injuries.

As per standard procedure, the deputies involved have been placed on paid administrative leave while the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART) conducts a thorough investigation. This incident underscores the risks law enforcement faces during domestic violence calls and the need for effective response strategies.
