Man booked into jail weeks after police shooting near Bothell

Timothy Ewald, a 29-year-old man, was booked into the Snohomish County Jail weeks after being shot by deputies during a standoff at a Bothell apartment complex. He faces serious charges, including assault, burglary, and domestic violence, stemming from a February incident where he reportedly held a woman and child against their will. The Snohomish County sheriff's deputies responded around 10:20 p. m. on February 7, following reports of a physical domestic violence situation.

Upon arrival, deputies found Ewald barricaded inside an apartment. After a Taser was deployed unsuccessfully, Ewald allegedly charged at the deputies with a weapon, prompting one officer to shoot him in defense. Fortunately, no other individuals at the scene sustained serious injuries. Ewald was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment and was subsequently booked into jail on March 1. This high-profile case raises important discussions about police use of force in domestic violence situations.
