The Granite Falls school board has unanimously selected Dana Geaslen as the next superintendent, completing a thorough selection process. Geaslen brings nearly six years of experience as an assistant superintendent in the Edmonds School District, along with a strong educational background, including a bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University and a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. The board voted 5-0 to approve her appointment and aims to finalize her contract by next week. Her previous roles include director of teaching and learning at the Camas School District and various teaching positions across Washington. The current superintendent's annual salary is $223,365, and Geaslen is set to begin her position on July 1, 2024, as the district prepares for significant transitions with the retirement of Josh Middleton after four years of service.

The Granite Falls School District serves approximately 2,300 students across five schools, emphasizing the need for strong leadership in the upcoming school year.
