Crews recover body of teen who fell in Stillaguamish River

The young man was hiking with friends on May 19 when he slipped off a rocky ledge while attempting to get a better view of the river. Witnesses quickly reported the incident, prompting an extensive search operation involving Snohomish County rescue crews. Despite their efforts, the search continued for nearly two weeks, with multiple agencies involved. The operation concluded when a sheriff’s helicopter team located his body in the river.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the man and determine the cause and manner of death. This tragic incident serves as a poignant reminder of the risks associated with outdoor activities, particularly near water bodies.
