Boston EMS Week We Care. For Everyone.
The Boston City Council adopted a resolution recognizing Boston Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, which will be celebrated from May 19–25, 2025. This year’s theme, “We Care. For Everyone. ,” encapsulates the compassionate mission of EMS professionals who respond to medical emergencies. Boston EMS serves as the largest municipal EMS agency in New England, handling over 135,000 clinical incidents annually and providing over 170,000 life support services.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Boston EMS demonstrated extraordinary resilience, managing over 160,000 incidents and administering more than 2,300 vaccinations to aid public health efforts. The Council commends the skill, professionalism, and selflessness of Boston EMS personnel, emphasizing their commitment to community health and safety. This resolution not only honors first responders but also reinforces the importance of their role in protecting public health. The recognition serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by EMS professionals in urban settings. Celebrating EMS Week fosters community awareness and appreciation for those who serve on the front lines of emergency care.
