Winners Announced For Icons of Franklin Park Poster Competition

Mayor Michelle Wu announced the winners of the Icons of Franklin Park Poster Competition at a ceremony on October 26, 2025, at the William Devine Clubhouse in Franklin Park. This competition, hosted in collaboration with the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, the City of Boston Planning Department, and others, invited artists to create original designs highlighting Franklin Park's rich history and cultural significance. More than fifty submissions were received, with four winners chosen by a panel of judges and the public. Helena Wang and Lindsay Crockett won in the Original Series category, while Stella Shippy and Anne Lai were recognized as Emerging Artists. The People’s Choice Award was given to Becky Fong Hughes for her watercolor design.

Nearly 1,300 people participated in the voting process, emphasizing community involvement in the event. Winning designs will be exhibited at Boston City Hall, the Franklin Park Clubhouse, and several local libraries, celebrating the park's legacy and the creativity of its supporters. Interim Boston Parks Commissioner Cathy Baker-Eclipse highlighted the importance of community engagement in preserving the park's significance.
