4 shot, 1 stabbed overnight in Dorchester in separate incidents, police say

Boston, MALocal News

A series of violent incidents unfolded in Dorchester on Sunday night, resulting in four shootings and one stabbing. The police reported these events between 11 p. m. and 3 a. m.

Monday, with three of the shooting victims found near Franklin Park. A pedestrian riding a moped was also struck by a vehicle downtown, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. City Councilor Ed Flynn raised concerns over a malfunction in the police radio system, which was down for approximately 30 minutes during this critical period. Investigations are ongoing, with no arrests made so far in connection to any of the violent incidents. The community is increasingly alarmed by the recent spike in violence and is calling for measures to enhance public safety.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the stabbing resulted from a verbal altercation outside the Home Run Café. The police continue to gather evidence, including ballistic material from the shooting scenes.
