DCSO SWAT, CERT teams acting on tip arrest Calif. fugitive wanted on nationwide felony warrant east of Bend

Salvador Edward Juarez, a 50-year-old assault suspect with a nationwide felony warrant from California, was arrested by Deschutes County law enforcement following a tip-off. The Redding Police Department informed local authorities about Juarez’s possible location in Deschutes County, prompting a surveillance operation by the Sheriff's Office. SWAT and Central Oregon Emergency Response Team (CERT) members located him on private property along Highway 20 east of Bend. After confirming his location through extensive surveillance, officers quickly established a plan for his arrest. Juarez surrendered without incident within minutes of law enforcement's arrival, aided by armored rescue vehicles.

He was then transported to jail before being moved to California to face his charges. The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of the CERT team, which contributed to the safe resolution of this operation. This case underscores the importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing crime effectively.
