The City of Bend is inviting the community to an open house on August 22, 2024, to discuss the Franklin Avenue Safety Project, which aims to improve access for walking, biking, and rolling between Harriman Street and Fifth Street. The event will take place at the Newberry Hotel's Mt. Bachelor Event Room and will be complemented by an online open house from August 22 through September 5. The project emphasizes safety and accessibility, reflecting the City Council's commitment to enhancing the local transportation system. Community members will interact with project designers and City staff to gather information and provide input.

This initiative is part of the larger Midtown Crossings Project, which includes key improvements to promote safe travel for all residents, fostering better connections between neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, parks, and businesses.
