Street Preservation Work Wraps Up for 2024 and Winter Preparation Begins
The City of Bend has completed its 2024 Street Preservation Program, enhancing approximately 59 lane miles of roads at a cost of $4. 7 million. This program reflects the City’s commitment to maintaining its roads through strategic treatments, including paving, slurry sealing, and chip sealing, with key thoroughfares like Division Street and Butler Market Road receiving attention. As winter approaches, the Transportation and Mobility Department is preparing for snow removal operations, equipped with 18 snow plow operators and 30 pieces of machinery. The City’s winter operations will prioritize plowing and sanding on major roads to ensure emergency vehicle access and public safety.
A detailed winter street priority map has been made available to residents, indicating which streets will be serviced first during snow events. Public cooperation is essential as the City prepares for potential winter storms, and officials encourage residents to familiarize themselves with upcoming winter conditions. This proactive approach ensures that Bend's roads remain safe and accessible throughout the winter months.
