The City of Bend to Update Parking Code

Bend, ORLocal News

The City of Bend is updating its parking code to better manage parking in response to modern demands. Key proposals include requiring vehicles at electric vehicle charging stations to be actively refueling and prohibiting larger commercial vehicles from parking overnight in residential areas. The community is invited to review and comment on these proposed changes until December 3, 2024, promoting public engagement in the decision-making process. The Bend City Council will consider the initiative on December 4, 2024, with implementation expected in 2025. Importantly, the update will not affect existing parking district regulations or introduce new paid parking at this time.

The city aims to create a more transparent and responsive parking management system that addresses current and future needs, with resident feedback playing a crucial role.
