Port of Bellingham appoints Tiffany DeSimone as Interim Executive Director

Tiffany DeSimone has been appointed as Interim Executive Director of the Port of Bellingham following the departure of Rob Fix. Commission President Ken Bell emphasized DeSimone's respect among staff and stakeholders, highlighting her strong leadership qualities. A native of Whatcom County, she has over a decade of experience with the Port, most recently managing operations at Bellingham Shipping Terminal and Squalicum Harbor. DeSimone will lead the Port for a period of three to nine months as officials search for a permanent executive director. This leadership change comes at a critical time as the Port is involved in significant ongoing projects.

Fix had served as the executive director since 2012, making his departure notable for the organization. The Port aims to maintain continuity and progress during this transition. DeSimone's local ties and experience are expected to aid in navigating this period effectively.
