Whatcom County Sheriffs Office arrests two people involved in hotel cocaine lab in Bellingham

Bellingham, WALocal News

Whatcom County deputies arrested two individuals linked to a cocaine lab discovered in a Bellingham hotel room. The investigation commenced in spring when a 34-year-old man was observed selling fentanyl-laced powder and crack cocaine in the area. On June 10, deputies confronted the man during a suspected drug deal at a convenience store, where cocaine was found in the buyer's vehicle. A search warrant executed at the man's hotel room revealed a crack cocaine cooking station, leading to his arrest. He remains in the Whatcom County Jail without bail, while a 27-year-old woman living with him was released on personal recognizance.

Authorities have indicated that additional arrests are likely as the investigation unfolds. The presence of a cocaine lab highlights ongoing concerns regarding drug trafficking in the region. The case underscores the challenges law enforcement faces in addressing the opioid crisis and related drug activities.
