Sedro-Woolley woman pleads guilty to embezzling over 1 million from Bellingham business

Amy Siniscarco, a 46-year-old woman from Sedro-Woolley, pleaded guilty to embezzling over $1. 4 million from Hardware Sales in Bellingham. Over her 12-year tenure, she engaged in various fraudulent activities, including forging checks and making unauthorized purchases. The case escalated to federal court after she used out-of-state servers to wire some of the stolen money to her personal accounts. Siniscarco also faces charges for filing a false tax return, as she failed to report the embezzled funds.

Her sentencing is scheduled for June 26, with prosecutors recommending a maximum sentence of 33 months. In addition to prison time, she must pay back all the embezzled money and over $226,000 in unpaid taxes. This case highlights the serious legal repercussions of financial misconduct in the workplace. The investigation by Bellingham Police led to her arrest in January 2023, following a months-long inquiry.
