Washington Homeowners Tap Into HVAC Rebates to Boost Efficiency and Cut Costs

Bellingham, WALocal News

Homeowners in Whatcom County are increasingly investing in high-efficiency heating and cooling systems due to available rebates and incentives aimed at reducing energy costs. Feller Heating & Air Conditioning, a local contractor, reports a significant rise in interest for heat pumps, which provide both efficient heating and air conditioning. Rebates from Puget Sound Energy can reach up to $1,500 for installing heat pump systems, with manufactured homes qualifying for up to $2,400. Cascade Natural Gas also provides rebates ranging from $800 to $1,500 for high-efficiency natural gas furnaces and boilers. The Washington State Department of Commerce’s HEAR Program offers additional incentives for low and moderate-income households, covering a substantial portion of installation costs for electric equipment.

As energy prices rise and environmental concerns grow, these rebate programs present valuable opportunities for homeowners to upgrade their HVAC systems. This shift towards energy efficiency not only reduces utility bills but also contributes to a more sustainable future for the community. The growing trend reflects a broader commitment to energy conservation and environmental responsibility in Whatcom County.
