Suspect shot and killed following I-5 pursuit ending on Cain Lake

A 34-year-old man died after a police pursuit that commenced with a stolen motorcycle in Skagit County. Law enforcement pursued the suspect into the Cain Lake area of Whatcom County, where he abandoned the motorcycle for a small boat. The suspect began shooting in multiple directions as officers returned fire, resulting in him being struck by a bullet. He was subsequently brought back to shore but died from his injuries. Fortunately, no officers sustained injuries, and nearby homes were not affected by the gunfire.
