Developers near completion of North Haven tiny home village

Bellingham, WALocal News

Bellingham's North Haven tiny home village is set to welcome residents by the end of May, according to a recent update presented to City Councilmembers. The city acquired the property, previously home to North Coast Credit Union, last April and has partnered with HomesNOW! to facilitate the project. This collaboration aims to prepare current residents from Swift Haven and Unity Village for their transition, as their leases have expired. The new village will feature 15 larger units that will replace some of the smaller structures previously occupied.

Furthermore, HomesNOW! plans to donate 25 smaller homes to United Way of Skagit County to assist in addressing local housing needs. The initiative reflects Bellingham's commitment to providing affordable housing solutions in the community. The project highlights the city's proactive approach to addressing homelessness and housing shortages. Local officials emphasize the importance of these developments for enhancing community well-being.
