Annual dry dock outage cuts Lummi Island ferry service until May

Whatcom County Public Works confirmed the annual dry dock outage for the Lummi Island ferry service will commence on April 26 and continue through May 11. During this time, the Whatcom Chief will only provide pedestrian ferry service between Lummi Island and Gooseberry Point. The service will experience interruptions on Saturday morning as the ferry transitions to dry dock, with operations resuming around noon. On Sunday, the ferry will remain out of service until roughly 2 p. m.
