The vessel flooded and subsequently broke apart, leaving its two occupants in the water. A U. S.

Coast Guard helicopter successfully rescued one man who was wearing a life jacket, and he was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the second man was recovered from the water but was pronounced dead by medical responders upon arrival. The identity of the deceased has not been released as authorities await notification of next of kin.
