WSDOT seeks public feedback for updated State Rail Plan

Bellingham, WALocal News

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is actively seeking public input to update its State Rail Plan, a vital component of the state's transportation infrastructure. Beginning April 15, 2025, WSDOT will launch a survey aimed at gathering community feedback on both passenger and freight rail services. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to ease roadway congestion, strengthen the local economy, reduce emissions, and improve safety for all users. The survey will remain open until June 24, 2025, providing ample opportunity for residents to voice their opinions. In addition to the survey, WSDOT will also conduct an online open house to foster further community engagement and discussion.

This public outreach effort underscores the importance of community involvement in shaping state transportation policies. By prioritizing feedback, WSDOT aims to create a rail plan that effectively meets the evolving needs of Washington's residents. This approach not only enhances transportation efficiency but also contributes to a more sustainable future for the state.
