Ski to Sea not worried about snow this year, final deadline for refunds is April 15

Bellingham, WALocal News

The eagerly awaited Ski to Sea race in Whatcom County is scheduled for May 25, with April 15 marking the final day for teams to request refunds. This year, organizers have made a rare exception to their refund policy, allowing teams to withdraw due to an extensive waitlist of 49 eager participants. The race officially sold out on March 22, the earliest it has done so in over ten years, highlighting its growing popularity. Former race director Anna Rankin reassured participants about snow conditions, stating that a strong base has been established, thanks to recent snowfall. This contrasts sharply with last year's challenges, where low snowpack forced adjustments.

My Bellingham Now is set to deliver live coverage of the race, starting from Mount Baker and finishing in Fairhaven. The community is also gearing up for the Jr. Ski to Sea race on May 10, which promises to engage younger athletes. Such events not only foster community spirit but also showcase the region's outdoor culture and athleticism.
