Mobile clinic tightens the gap in dental health care in East Whatcom

Bellingham, WALocal News

DentALL, a mobile dental clinic, is making strides in East Whatcom County by providing essential dental care to underserved patients. Founded by Dr. Jessica Dubek, the clinic addresses the critical issue of limited access to dental services, particularly for those who have experienced homelessness or are uninsured. Patients like Kathy Howard, who shared her story of enduring years without proper dental care, highlight the urgent need for such services. The clinic accepts Medicaid and Medicare while also offering free care for those without insurance, aiming to eliminate barriers to access.

By visiting community centers and other locations, DentALL brings dental care directly to those who need it most. A recent report revealed that 38 out of 39 counties in Washington are designated as having dental health professional shortages, underscoring the importance of this initiative. Dubek's commitment to expanding services demonstrates a proactive approach to tackling dental care disparities in the region. With hopes of securing additional funding, the clinic aims to sustain its operations and continue serving the community.
