Lane closures on I-5, Guide Meridian this week could impact your commute in Bellingham

This week, lane closures on I-5 and the Guide Meridian may impact commuters in Bellingham. WSDOT announced the right lane of southbound I-5 will close for guardrail repair from Iowa Street to Lakeway Drive on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 6 a. m. to 1 p.

m. Overnight closures will take place from 8 p. m. to 5 a. m.

through Wednesday morning due to construction south of the North Lake Samish overpass, affecting both northbound and southbound lanes. Similar closures will occur near the Alger and Nulle Road exits during the same hours. The Guide Meridian will also experience nightly closures from 9 p. m. to 5 a.

m. on Monday and Tuesday. Flaggers will help direct traffic at Wiser Lake Road for Comcast utility work, ensuring safety during these disruptions. These repairs and construction projects are necessary to maintain road safety and infrastructure integrity. Commuters should plan accordingly to avoid delays during peak hours.
