New online tool shows immunization data in Whatcom County

Bellingham, WALocal News

The Washington Department of Health has launched the Respiratory Immunization Dashboard, an online tool designed to track vaccination trends during the cold and flu season. This resource updates weekly with data on flu, COVID, and RSV vaccinations administered statewide. In Whatcom County, a greater percentage of residents have received vaccinations for COVID, flu, and adult RSV compared to the state average. However, pediatric RSV vaccinations are only slightly behind the state average, trailing by one percentage point. Secretary of Health Dennis Worsham previously issued a standing order recommending COVID vaccinations for individuals aged six months and older.

The order also encourages RSV vaccinations for children under eight months and adults over 75. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to bolster public health and mitigate the spread of respiratory illnesses. Enhanced vaccination rates in Whatcom County could lead to a more resilient community during the peak of respiratory illness season.
