Updated results from the 2025 Whatcom County General Election are in

Recent election results from Whatcom County reveal significant voter preferences in local propositions and council races. Proposition No. 3, which proposes performance audits, received overwhelming support with 84. 97% approval, while Proposition No. 4, clarifying the powers of elected officials, garnered 91.

95% approval. In contrast, Proposition No. 1, which would allow councilmembers to hire dedicated aides, was rejected by 63. 62% of voters. Kaylee Galloway ran unopposed for County Council District 1, while Elizabeth Boyle leads the race for District 2 with over 72% of the vote.

In the Port of Bellingham, Proposition 2025-04, aimed at expanding the port commission, is currently passing with almost 65% approval. Additionally, Initiative 25-03 in Bellingham, prohibiting landlord interference with tenant activities, is also showing strong support. The Whatcom County auditor will release updated results at 5 p. m. on November 6, with approximately 11,700 ballots remaining to be counted.

These election outcomes will influence local governance and policy direction in the region.
