Lummi Nation celebrates Indigenous Peoples Day
The Lummi Nation celebrates Indigenous People’s Day at Lummi Nation School, inviting the entire Whatcom County community to participate. Guests will enjoy a complimentary salmon dinner, followed by a keynote address from Rena Preist, the state Poet Laureate and a member of the Lummi Nation. This year’s theme, "nilh to u," translates to “since the beginning of creation,” emphasizing the enduring legacy of Indigenous culture. The program, scheduled from 6 to 8 p. m.
