WWU partners with Whatcom Community College to boost university enrollment

Whatcom Community College (WCC) and Western Washington University (WWU) have announced a partnership aimed at simplifying the transfer process for students seeking a four-year degree. WCC students with a cumulative GPA of 2. 5 or higher who complete one of two designated Associate's transfer degrees will receive guaranteed admission to WWU. Furthermore, these students will benefit from waived application fees, easing their transition to university life. This initiative was hinted at by WWU President Sabah Randhawa during a recent State of the University Address, where he emphasized the importance of boosting enrollment.

Eligible high school seniors will also receive automatic acceptance into WWU, broadening access to higher education. The partnership reflects a commitment to supporting local educational pathways and enhancing opportunities for students in Bellingham. By fostering collaboration between the two institutions, the agreement aims to create a more seamless educational experience.
