Bellingham school bus involved in traffic collision on Lakeway Drive

A Bellingham Public Schools bus collided with another vehicle while making a turn from Old Woburn Street onto Lakeway Drive Monday afternoon, leading to a temporary road closure. Bellingham Police and BPS staff arrived to check on the students aboard the bus, who all reported no injuries. The other vehicle's driver sustained minor injuries. BPS spokesperson Dana Smith thanked first responders for their prompt assistance. A replacement bus was dispatched to ensure students were taken home safely.

This incident highlights the importance of road safety, especially in school zones. Traffic on Lakeway Drive resumed at approximately 4:57 p. m. The swift response by local authorities ensured minimal disruption to student transport.
