Kevin Coleman Tatiana Stone Directors of Bellingham SeaFeast

Bellingham, WALocal News

Bellingham SeaFeast, which celebrates the maritime history of Whatcom County, has become a prominent autumn gathering since Kevin Coleman took over as Executive Director in 2022. Coleman, dedicated to community engagement, has seen attendance rise annually, leading to the introduction of new year-round events. Together with Tatiana Stone, the Director of Operations, they established four pillars: community building, sustainable seafood, ocean conservation, and maritime heritage. This year's festival, taking place on September 27-28, features an onsite dishwashing service for vendors, a first for the event, and a VIP experience with an oyster bar. Additionally, a 5K Pirate Run will allow participants to don pirate costumes, while a kids' parade will celebrate the theme.

Live music by local bands will further enhance the event's appeal. Coleman emphasizes the importance of building community bridges, especially with local Tribes, to foster understanding and inclusivity. SeaFeast aims not just to be an annual event but a continuous community organization.
