Stranded person rescued on Nooksack River by local authorities

On Friday afternoon, local law enforcement rescued a stranded inner tuber from a log jam on the Nooksack River in Everson, Washington. The Everson/Sumas Police Department’s Swiftwater Rescue Team responded to the emergency near the 6200 block of Lawrence Road. They successfully reached the individual, who was unharmed and had been wearing a life jacket. Officials confirmed that the person sustained no injuries during the incident. In light of this event, police stressed the importance of safety measures for water recreation, particularly the proper fit and compliance of life jackets with U.
