Main parking lot at Bellingham Airport closed through early September for upgrades

Bellingham, WALocal News

Bellingham International Airport's main parking lot will remain closed until September 12 as it undergoes significant automation upgrades. Following this closure, the Economy A Parking Lot will close from September 15 to October 3 for similar enhancements. According to airport operations manager Gage Dalley, these improvements will enable online reservations and incorporate automatic license plate readers to expedite the parking process. Travelers must note that parking reservations will not be available until the upgrades are finalized. This development is part of the Port of Bellingham's efforts to improve airport efficiency and passenger convenience.

The automation aims to reduce wait times and streamline operations. Upgrading the parking system aligns with broader trends in airport modernization across the country. Enhanced parking facilities are expected to improve the overall travel experience for passengers.
