The Whatcom Humane Society confirmed her arrival on August 9, 2025. Mabel gained fame after escaping from a trailer on Alabama Hill in August 2024, managing to evade capture for over two months. Her original owner surrendered her to the Humane Society, expressing a lack of interest in her welfare. The sanctuary spans 20 acres of forest land, providing a natural habitat for Mabel and her new companions.
