Custer man turns himself in after admitting to murdering a man on his property

Donald Malone, 61, confessed to the murder of a man on his property in Custer, Washington, on August 7, 2025. The victim approached Malone at a shopping center and offered him a ride to assist with cleaning his garage. Despite initially avoiding the victim, Malone shot him multiple times as he came down his driveway. Following the incident, Malone turned himself in to the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office the next day. Detectives discovered the victim's body on Malone's property, confirming his admission of guilt.
