Pickford Theater invites community to celebrate second locations grand opening

The Pickford Film Center in Bellingham, WA, celebrates the grand opening of its second location on Grand Avenue on August 1 at 5 p. m. The community is invited to an Open House featuring free popcorn and a tour of the new space. The theater's first showings will occur on August 2, with classic films like The Wizard of Oz and Casablanca on the schedule. Known as Pickford on Grand, the new location adds three screens to the existing two at the original site just a block away.

This expansion, first announced in 2021, enables the theater to showcase a wider array of films, particularly smaller productions that were previously unfeasible. Gray Gordon, a spokesperson for Pickford, emphasized the increased flexibility the new screens provide. The Pickford Film Center aims to enhance local cultural offerings and engage the community through diverse cinematic experiences.
