A Bellingham man, aged 32, was arrested for allegedly stealing over $9,500 worth of sports cards from his neighbor, including a sought-after autographed Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card. The victim reported the theft, which included a large portion of his sports card collection. Employees at a local sports card shop identified the suspect when he attempted to sell the cards. Investigators learned the suspect had a key to the victim's house, as they were acquaintances who had worked on various projects together.

He was arrested on July 24 and released on personal recognizance the next day. This case highlights the potential for betrayal among neighbors and acquaintances. The incident also underscores the importance of safeguarding personal belongings. Local law enforcement may increase community outreach to prevent similar thefts in the future.
