Man named as person of interest in case of missing Lummi Nation woman

Lummi Police have named Terry Bowman a person of interest in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Besalynn James, a 62-year-old elder from the Lummi Nation. James was last seen on January 21, 2025, near her home on Balch Road, shortly after leaving for a walk around 2 a. m. Her boyfriend, Bowman, reported her missing. Chief Jay Martin confirmed that Bowman has been interviewed by both tribal police and the FBI, and authorities are monitoring his location.
