PNW Climate Week is set to raise awareness and inspire conversation about environmental action in Bellingham

Bellingham will host the third annual PNW Climate Week from July 16 to July 25, featuring workshops and community discussions aimed at promoting environmental awareness. Events will span over 10 cities from Portland, OR, to Vancouver, B. C. , showcasing the region's environmental innovation. Local businesses, including zero waste store Pumped Goods and bicycle-themed café Café Velo, will host various activities to engage the community.

Co-lead organizer Amy Nicknish encourages participation from individuals at all levels of environmental knowledge. The week kicks off with a waterfront cleanup site tour and a Salty Social Hour at the Community Boating Center. On Friday, participants can join an 8-mile cycling tour and a Climate Fresk workshop. The week culminates in a “Hempcrete Workshop” focused on climate preparedness. Attendees can also learn about wildfire preparedness at a City Hall event organized with Whatcom County Health and Community Services.
