The New York Yankees staged a remarkable comeback to defeat the Seattle Mariners 6-5 in 10 innings on July 10. Anthony Volpe scored the winning run after an acrobatic slide on a sacrifice fly by Aaron Judge, capping a rally that began with Jazz Chisholm Jr. ’s single in the eighth inning. Mariners pitcher Bryan Woo took a no-hitter into the eighth, throwing a career-high 103 pitches over 7 1/3 innings. The Yankees tied the game in the ninth, thanks to a two-run single from Austin Wells, after trailing by five runs earlier.

Andrés Muñoz, the Mariners’ All-Star closer, faced criticism for his sixth blown save of the season. This victory marked the Yankees' first win when trailing by five or more runs since June 29, 2016. The Yankees completed a three-game sweep of the Mariners, who are also playoff contenders in the American League. New York has now won four consecutive games following a challenging six-game losing streak.
